Hidden away in the backstreets of Bishopsgate is Benk+Bo, an events space with a difference.
A couple of weeks ago some of us from Women of Power were lucky enough to attend an event there to celebrate the launch of their bakery. The décor is great, 60s industrial chic, and works very well with the community oriented, artistic vibe of the place – you instantly feel at home. Located across three floors; yoga studio and meeting rooms at the top, bakery and café on the ground floor and kitchen and co-working space in the basement the space is multi-functional without feeling cluttered.
When we arrived the event was already well underway, with lots of chatty creatives happily sampling the vegetarian friendly food and drinks being served. We quickly ensconced ourselves by the bar and got to sampling the refreshments for ourselves (I can personally recommend the gluten free brownies). There was also a 15-minute yoga taster session focussing releasing tension in the neck and shoulders, essential for any Londoner these days!
At the end of the night we were given a beautiful goodie bag, complete with some coffee beans, a key chain and a membership card, which I will certainly be putting to good use. If you’re looking for a great spot to hold meetings or an alternative workspace, pay Benk+Bo a visit.

This little gem in the heart of east London is a multipurpose space with the feel of being in a friends home: genius!
At the summer party the atmosphere had a calm, warm buzz flowing into every corner. You immediately felt at home.
The BENK + Bo Bakery is a shared workspace meets lunch time hang out, cafe, bakery, meeting rooms and yoga to name but a few. Split over 3 floors, your journey begins on the ground floor where you will experience a ‘living room’ feeling hang out area beautifully finished with lounge worthily furniture. Through the glass doors is where the cafe, filled with vegetarian and vegan options, can be found. (Side note: you need to try the coffee) This leads upstairs to what I have to say is my favourite area: the piano room. Yes, you heard me right there is a room just for members to play the piano. This is accompanied by a ‘dining room’ style meeting room and the yoga studio. Last but not least is the shared workspace on the bottom floor. This is an open space with large shared desks and plenty of plugs sockets to go around. The final touch to this area is the hanging art which compliments the space just right. A perfect place to combine self love with the practicalities of modern life.
